We are expecting anywhere from 6-12" inches of snow from about midnight tonight, a steady snow through Sunday evening. The snow totals change a little every few hours, but every weather web site I've visited (local and national) all agree that we are getting a storm with high winds tomorrow. Yipee! (That's sarcasm, folks).
Mike and I went out this morning to take care of errands. We had hoped to get done and be home before today's snow fell, which was predicted to be about 2-4". We didn't make it. There was only about an inch of snow though, which came down pretty quickly while we were at the grocery store, but then it stopped. No snow has fallen since.
We mailed my Dad's Christmas box, which was the main thing we wanted to do. We stood in line at the Post Office for almost an hour, while two of the four service windows were closed. It seemed to us and some of the people whom we talked to in line that the windows were closed on purpose. Why is it that during times where there are long lines anywhere--and it is expected that there will be--that extra employees are not scheduled to work? I guess it must be because of their scheduling budget, but jeez!
Anyway, we got the errands done, light grocery shopping included. Mike bought a new shovel which we needed. We had three, but broke two. One of those is still 'good enough' to shovel snow, but Mike wanted to buy another shovel because I insist on helping him shovel snow. I help shovel snow every winter, which is no big deal to me. While I hate winter weather in general, I like being outside in the crisp cold air while getting a little exercise.
Anyway, after we were home we put some Christmas music on the stereo. Do you remember this album from the '60s? It was my favorite when I was a kid. My mom put it on the stereo every Christmas. I got it in the mail today from an Ebay seller. I also remember Andy's Christmas TV shows, where he sung the songs on this album and also had the Osmond Brothers as guests a time or two. My family watched Andy Williams' Christmas show every year.
Mike bought the Christmas decorations up from the basement so tomorrow, in the midst of the snow storm, I'll be decorating the living room. After that, there's Christmas cards to get ready for mailing. Bet there'll be hot chocolate on the stove as well!

We also watched Andy every year at my house.
His Moon River Theater is about 9 miles from me. He is still doing it. omg
We have several Osmonds in town also. Even the Lennon sisters. woot
Happy Holidays.
Sorry to hear about all that snow. Hope it's not heading for Texas!
I remember the album, 33 1/3 LP isn't it? This may date me but I can still play 'Moon River' on my harp (harmonica). It was a classic. When as a kid we woud watch the Andy Williams show everyone would quite down and well, it was great. They just don't make music like that anymore, do they?
